These Books Are "In The Money"
Elizabeth K. Randisi, Esq.
posted on January 02, 2012 21:28
Clients frequently ask us during meetings for advice on selecting investments, budgeting, and personal money management.
We immediately tell our clients "we don't do that." Besides being a conflict of interest, there's just not enough time in the day for us to keep current on the changes in Medicaid law
and
follow the stock market.
It is our pleasure to introduce our clients to one or more of our extremely qualified referral partners - planners and accountants we trust who have expertise in the financial and tax planning arenas.
Now we have an additional resource: a reading list. These five books were recently profiled in the
Democrat & Chronicle
, and look like they're worth the read:
The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine
by Michael Lewis (author of
The Blind Side
)
, about the mortgage crisis;
Lost and Found: Unexpected Revelations about Food and Money
by Geneen Roth, a victim of Bernie Madoff's schemes;
The Intelligent Investor
by Benjamin Graham, a 60-year-old classic;
Your Money or Your Life: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Relationship With Money and Achieving Financial Independence
by Vicki Robin, Joe Dominguez, and Monique Tilford; and
The Complete Tightwad Gazette
by Amy Dacyczyn, in the spirit of
Extreme Couponing
.
