An estate plan is the first step; administration is the second

When you pass away, you will want to have an estate plan in place to help your heirs know what you want done with your belongings and assets. Someone will need to be made a trustee or an estate administrator. You can put all of your belongings in a trust that this person administers on your behalf when you are incapacitated or have passed on.

It isn't an easy job, so you will need to appoint someone that you have confidence in and can count on to do exactly what you want. It can be a real challenge and the bigger the estate, the more of a job this becomes. It requires a great deal of effort and diligence.

Asking for help from Weinstein & Randisi, you, as the estate administrator can really make the difference between doing what that person wanted done and reading the requirements over and over and not being able to decipher what was meant and what needs to be done first. You can face some fairly serious legal problems if the tasks listed are not done in a timely manner.

We have over 50 years of combined experience at our firm and can help you translate what the will says and what the estate plan states as well. We know that sometimes you have other responsibilities and cannot devote as much time to this as you need to. You may also be grieving and cannot get to a place that the estate becomes separate from your loved one.

We will walk you through step by step in what can otherwise be a confusing journey. We know the laws of New York and the federal laws as well and will be of great assistance to you at a time when you most need it.

  • I wanted to write to say how pleased my wife and I were at your professional handling of our estate planning and preparation of new wills. We were put at ease by your visit to our home for an interview and were pleased that you listened to us and captured the things that we felt were important.
