Let's Make 2012 the Year of Fiscal Responsibility

I am just as bad as anyone else at keeping New Year's resolutions. But this year, I would like to be more responsible with my finances, and I know that many of our clients would as well. This article provides a simple start, as it outlines one financial goal per month to help get your money house in order.Let's see if we can all meet these simple goals. And if updating your estate plan is in your future for 2012, contact Weinstein & Randisi today.

These Books Are "In The Money"

Clients frequently ask us during meetings for advice on selecting investments, budgeting, and personal money management. We immediately tell our clients "we don't do that." Besides being a conflict of interest, there's just not enough time in the day for us to keep current on the changes in Medicaid law and follow the stock market. It is our pleasure to introduce our clients to one or more of our extremely qualified referral partners - planners and accountants we trust who have expertise in the financial and tax planning arenas. Now we have an additional resource: a reading list. These five books were recently profiled in the Democrat & Chronicle, and look like they're worth the read: The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine by Michael Lewis (author of The Blind Side), about the mortgage crisis; Lost and Found: Unexpected Revelations about Food and Money by Geneen Roth, a victim of Bernie Madoff's schemes; The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham, a 60-year-old classic; Your Money or Your Life: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Relationship With Money and Achieving Financial Independence by Vicki Robin, Joe Dominguez, and Monique Tilford; and The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn, in the spirit of Extreme Couponing. • I wanted to write to say how pleased my wife and I were at your professional handling of our estate planning and preparation of new wills. We were put at ease by your visit to our home for an interview and were pleased that you listened to us and captured the things that we felt were important.

  • In order to finalize the documents we came to your office and were greeted in a very professional manner and we could not have asked for finer service. We left with copies of everything we needed and feel very confident our needs have been met. Thanks again. We will surely recommend you should the opportunity arise.

  • I have been working with Weinstein & Randisi for about two years now. Elizabeth Randisi, through a very thorough process, has helped my wife and me determine what is really important in our lives. Thus, we were able to draft a living will that reflected our most important values regarding our estate.

    --David and Ajia Cherry, Fairport
  • I would like to give a testimony for Elizabeth Randisi, an estate attorney with Weinstein & Randisi. Her knowledge of wills and estate planning was clearly demonstrated in her presentation to us. Realizing our need for a will, my husband and I went to see Elizabeth.

    --Kathy and Gary Gray, Webster
  • Filing for Medicaid is never an easy or fun process. However, working with the Weinstein & Randisi firm made the process simple and streamlined. We were able to obtain all files and records regarding Medicaid enrollment within a few days using specially prepared checklists and verbiage recommended by our assigned paralegal.
